Profile
Kurt has appeared in trials and other hearings before QCAT, the Magistrates Court, and the District and Supreme Courts of Queensland.
Prior to joining Bay Street Chambers in 2026, he was the Crown Prosecutor in Southport and Cairns. In that role, he prosecuted complex and notable cases, appearing for the Crown in various trials, sentences, legal arguments, and appellate hearings.
Before that he worked as a solicitor at Legal Aid Queensland and in private practice. This included civil litigation, equity, estate law, and equine law.
In 2020 he was an associate to a judge of the District Court of Queensland.
Kurt served as chairman of the Far North Queensland Rugby judiciary.
